Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.
- Layer the apple mixture in the bottom of the crockpot, spreading it evenly.
- In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture is crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, covering them generously.
Cooking
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden.
Serving
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For freezing, ensure it's fully cooled before transferring to a freezer-safe container, lasting about 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
