  • 3-4 lbs chuck roast Ideal for tenderness
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 medium carrots, cut into chunks
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning Can be substituted with other seasonings
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chuck roast at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add the beef broth, chopped onions, minced garlic, carrots, and potatoes.
  3. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the top of the ingredients.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
  6. Once cooked, shred the meat and stir into the gravy before serving.

Notes

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, or a garden salad. Consider garnishing with fresh herbs. For a thicker gravy, add cornstarch slurry towards the end of cooking.
