Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauces
  • 1 box Ziti pasta Can substitute with penne or macaroni.
  • 24 ounce Marinara sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade.
Cheeses
  • 15 ounce Ricotta cheese
  • 16 ounce Mozzarella cheese Shredded or sliced.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Grated for best melting.
Seasonings and Meat (optional)
  • 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 pound Ground beef or Italian sausage Optional; can be omitted for a vegetarian dish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. If using meat, brown it in a skillet and drain the fat. Skip this step for a vegetarian option.
Layering
  1. In your crockpot, start by pouring a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom to prevent sticking.
  2. Add a layer of cooked ziti, followed by a mixture of ricotta, some mozzarella, Italian seasoning, and spices.
  3. Repeat these layers until you run out of ingredients, finishing with mozzarella on top.
Cooking
  1. Cover your crockpot and cook on low for about 4–6 hours or on high for about 2–3 hours.
Serving
  1. Check that the cheese is melted and bubbling before serving.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before enjoying.

Notes

For best flavor, cook ziti al dente. Add fresh herbs or serve with a side salad or garlic bread for enhanced experience.
