Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground beef, lean May substitute with turkey.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 Parsley or basil, Fresh Chopped.
  • 1 Yellow onion Chopped.
  • 2 jars (22 fl oz each) tomato sauce
  • 1 lb Lasagna noodles Can use no-boil noodles.
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 can Cooking spray, Nonstick For coating crockpot.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese Shredded.
  • 1 tub Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Water To create steam.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, adding the minced garlic and chopped onion. Drain excess fat and season with salt, black pepper, and fresh herbs.
  2. Lightly coat the inside of your crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Spread a layer of tomato sauce at the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Layer uncooked lasagna noodles over the sauce, breaking them up if necessary.
  5. Add a layer of the beef mixture on top, followed by dollops of ricotta and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
  6. Continue layering sauce, noodles, beef mixture, ricotta, and mozzarella until all components are used, finishing with sauce and mozzarella.
  7. Pour 1/2 cup of water around the edges of the lasagna.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours until the noodles are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Let sit for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with a green salad and crusty bread. Consider adding vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms for more nutrition.
