Preparation
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, adding the minced garlic and chopped onion. Drain excess fat and season with salt, black pepper, and fresh herbs.
- Lightly coat the inside of your crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
- Spread a layer of tomato sauce at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Layer uncooked lasagna noodles over the sauce, breaking them up if necessary.
- Add a layer of the beef mixture on top, followed by dollops of ricotta and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
- Continue layering sauce, noodles, beef mixture, ricotta, and mozzarella until all components are used, finishing with sauce and mozzarella.
- Pour 1/2 cup of water around the edges of the lasagna.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours until the noodles are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Let sit for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with a green salad and crusty bread. Consider adding vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms for more nutrition.
