  • 2-3 pounds chuck roast A well-marbled cut perfect for slow-cooking.
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 6-8 pepperoncini peppers Adjust the amount for more or less heat.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Sliced for placing on top of the roast.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix generously over the roast.
  3. Add the pepperoncini peppers along with some of their juices to enhance the flavor.
  4. Slice the butter and lay the pieces on top of the roast for a creamy finish.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and let it cook on low for about 8 hours, or until the meat is fork-tender.
  2. When ready, shred the meat with a fork and mix it with the delicious juices before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, consider searing the roast before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
