  • 4 carrots, chopped
  • 4 potatoes, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch optional, for thickening

  1. Start by seasoning the beef roast generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, brown the roast on all sides for a rich, deep flavor.
  3. Place the browned roast into the crockpot, surrounded by the chopped onion, carrots, and potatoes.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour this mixture over the roast and veggies.
  5. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
  6. If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with a bit of water and stir it into the crockpot during the last half hour of cooking.
  7. Once done, serve hot and enjoy the warmth of this heartwarming dish.
