Preparation
- In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, add chicken, onion, potatoes, and mixed vegetables.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, milk, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour this creamy mixture over the chicken and veggies, ensuring everything is evenly coated.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds.
- About 30 minutes before serving, shred or cut the chicken into pieces and return it to the slow cooker.
- Cut the biscuits into quarters and place them over the mixture in the slow cooker.
- Melt the butter and brush it over the biscuits for a lovely golden finish.
- Cover and cook for the remaining 30 minutes until the biscuits are cooked through.
- Garnish with parsley before serving for a fresh touch.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. This dish freezes well; store the biscuits and the chicken mixture separately. Reheating may require a splash of milk to retain moisture.
