  • 1 cup chopped carrots Feel free to sauté for added flavor.
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz) Can be substituted with a homemade roux for a lighter version.
  • 2 cups biscuit dough (store-bought or homemade) Can be broken into smaller pieces.
  • to taste salt Salt

Method

Preparation
  1. In your slow cooker, combine the shredded chicken, chicken broth, chopped carrots, frozen peas, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cream of chicken soup, and salt. Give it a good mix until everything is well blended.
  2. Next, add the biscuit dough on top. You can break it into smaller pieces if you prefer bite-sized dumplings.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when the dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
  2. Before serving, stir gently to combine everything, and enjoy your warm, comforting meal!

Notes

If you enjoy a bit of heat, add a dash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. Make sure to taste and adjust the seasoning before serving.
