  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Toast lightly to prevent sogginess.
  • 4 slices cheese Optional for added flavor.

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic. After it’s nicely browned, drain any excess fat.
  2. Transfer the cooked beef mixture to a slow cooker. Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
  2. Serve the mixture on hamburger buns, topping each serving with a slice of cheese for extra flavor and richness.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Can be frozen in an airtight container for future use.
