  • 1.5 lbs Ground beef Lean ground beef recommended.
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Onion powder
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Mustard, prepared
  • 16 oz Tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika, smoked
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp Vegetable oil For browning meat.
  • 6 pieces Hamburger buns
  • 6 slices Cheese, yellow

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown the ground beef, breaking it up into smaller pieces until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
Cooking
  1. In a slow cooker, combine the browned beef with garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, mustard, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
Serving
  1. Serve the sloppy joes on hamburger buns topped with a slice of cheese.
